I'm a research oceanographer with over 20 years of experience turning large datasets into clear visualizations. Images tell stories, and I love crafting visualizations to tell the stories hidden within data. I also create visualizations to explain complex things like earth system models or ocean circulations, and to aid decision making. I work with scientists, policy makers, industry, educators, and others. When I'm not working you can find me hanging out with my dog Jack, usually in the garden or elbow-deep in the compost bin.
My background in math and science makes me adept at data analysis. I've worked with data of all kinds, formats, and sizes. Over the course of my career, I've continually expanded into new fields. But across all of them I was focused on analyzing and visualizing data in order to answer questions.
I craft products tailored to meet the needs of specific audiences. This can range from highly technical scientific reports to conceptual diagrams to plain-language dashboards and everything in between. Whatever the product, I ensure visualizations are fully accessible by their audience.
